Frugal Decorating: The Value of Accessories in a Down Economy

One of the best ways to add style and freshness to any room decor is through creative use of decorative accessories. This is true any time, but even more so when money is tight. During tough economic times, money may not be available to purchase large furniture items like couches, tables, chairs and credenzas. But a few of the right floral arrangements, plants, trees, candle holders, ceramics or other accessories can have a dramatic impact on the look and feel of a work or living space.

There are literally unlimited ways that interior designers, contract designers, furniture retailers and their clients can express creativity, create exciting themes, update designs, and transform old into new by using decorative accessories as their palette. When budgets are limited, accessories provide the perfect outlet to keep living or work spaces fresh, up-to-date and ever-changing. Accessories allow us to feel abundant in at least one area of our lives while the rest of the world is screaming "frugal".

As always, we're interested in your thoughts about how to bring the best value to our clients during tough economic times. Comment on this post and share your stories and unique approaches.
